I am honoured to receive the 2026 Division Outstanding Early Career Scientist Award from the Geodynamics Division of the European Geosciences Union. The EGU blog has published an interview where I talk about the path from theoretical physics in Iran to geodynamics in Munich and eventually to ANU, what drives the work on G-ADOPT, and where I think the field is heading.
This recognition reflects the effort of a lot of people. Rhodri Davies and Mark Hoggard and the entire observational and computational geodynamics group at ANU. My PhD supervisor Hans-Peter Bunge and the computational geodynamics team at LMU Munich. Jerry Mitrovica, Dietmar Muller, Lorenzo Colli, and probably tens of other people that I am embarrassingly not naming here. The students and postdocs who push the work forward every day. None of it happens alone, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey.
